הצגת מאמר בכיתה – 20%, הצגת רפרט – 10%, רפרט/ עבודה סמינריונית כתובה – 70% (ציון העבודה נפרד).

תקציר

הסמינר יעסוק בשאלות של דימוי גוף, היחס למיניות והבנייה מגדרית בחברה היפאנית וייצוגיהם החזותיים – לפני ואחרי המפגש עם ערכי המערב. בין הסוגיות בהן נדון יעלו שאלות פסיכואנליטיות, רבוי וטמפוראליות מגדריים, היחס למיניות לאורך ההסטוריה של יפאן – החל מתקופת היאן ועד לעת העכשווית, פרפורמטיביות של מגדר – בתאטרון, באמנות מיצג, ובהקשרים חברתיים רחבים יותר, הומוארוטיות, זנות, וייצוגים של מיניות ומגדר בהדפס, ציור, קולנוע, מנגה, אנימה, ואמנות עכשווית.

Abstract

In the seminar, we shall consider questions of body images, the approach to sexuality and gender constructions in Japanese society and their visual representations – before and after the encounter with Western values. Among other topics, we shall discuss issues o psychoanalysis, multiplicity and temporality of genders, views of sexuality along Japanese history – from Heian period to our times, gender performance and performativity – in theatre performance art, and broader social context, homoeroticism, prostitution, and representations of sexuality and gender in print, painting, cinema, manga, anime, and contemporary art.
