קטלוג של תערוכה או תכנייה של הצגה מתווכים לקהלים מגוונים מידע על יצירות אמנות תוך העשרת הקוראים בהקשרים התרבותיים, החברתיים והאמנותיים של היצירות. כמו כן, התכנייה והקטלוג מהווים תיעוד של יצירת האמנות זמן רב לאחר הצגתה. במיטב התיאטראות והמוזיאונים בעולם אלו הם חוקרי תיאטרון ואמנות מובילים אשר כותבים ועורכים את המידע שמלווה ומעשיר את חווית הצפייה. המהפכה הדיגיטלית מחייבת חשיבה מחדש על האופנים בהם אנו מתקשרים מידע תרבותי לקהל ויוצרת הזדמנות לשתף קהלים רחבים במידע אודות יצירות תיאטרון ואמנות. מטרת קורס זה הנה ללמד את הסטודנטים לחקור, לכתוב ולערוך ידע תרבותי מעמיק באופן בהיר ונגיש. במסגרת הקורס הם ילמדו לכתוב תכניות לתיאטרון וערכים קטלוגיים לתערוכות ובנוסף לעבד את התוצרים המחקריים לפורמטים דיגיטליים מילוליים וחזותיים, ובכלל זה פורמטים דיגיטליים תמציתיים (לדוגמה טוויטר ואינסטגרם) אשר יוכלו להגיע לקהלים רחבים.

A catalogue of an exhibition or a theatre program mediate knowledge about art and theatre to wide audiences, while enriching the readers, spectators, and participants about the social, cultural, and artistic aspects of the works of art. In addition, the theatre program and the exhibition catalogue remain long after the performance or exhibition are over, and serve as the main form of documentation of the artistic event that took place. In leading theatres and museums all over the world, theatre and art researchers write and edit the programs and catalogues that accompany the artistic experience. The digital revolution invites us to rethink the ways we write and communicate cultural knowledge and creates an opportunity to share this knowledge with wide audiences. In this interdisciplinary course, theatre and art students will learn how to research, write, and edit cultural knowledge in accessible ways. Throughout the course students will write theatre programs for the theatre productions of TAU Theatre and art-catalogue entries. In addition students will learn how to adapt the materials they write into digital and visual formats, including Twitter and Instagram, so that the cultural knowledge they produce reaches wide audiences.
