הקורס עוסק בתהליכים המהווים את הבסיס לכלכלת יפן המודרנית, דרך ניתוח התהליכים ההיסטוריים, החברתיים והתרבותיים אשר היוו את אבני הדרך ועיצבו את כלכלת יפן.
נושאי לימוד:
• הקניית ידע, מושגים והבנה של תהליכים מאקרו כלכליים, ניתוח הייחודיות של תהליכים אלו בכלכלה היפנית.
• התהליכים אשר הכינו את יפן לנס הכלכלי הגדול.
• הנס הכלכלי הגדול של יפן – המהפך של יפן ממדינה הרוסה בתום מלחמת העולם השנייה, לכלכלה השנייה בגודלה, הבנת סוד ההצלחה והבסיס להצלחה, מדוע מה שקרה ביפן ייחודי ליפנים, ולא קרה במדינות מערביות.

Japan's Economy
• The course deals with the processes that form the basis of modern Japan's economy, through the analysis of historical, social and cultural processes which constituted the milestones and shaped the economy of Japan.
