The Jewish Yishuv between the Two World Wars
During the Years between WWI and WWII the Jewish settlement in Palestine raised from 56,000 people to 450,000. This dramatic growth in Jewish presence teaches the changes in intensity happened in Palestine between 1918 and 1939. The Course will examine the main lines of the Jewish settlement development during the relevant period and will explore the ways Palestine became the focus of the Zionist movement’s activities. The center of our discussion will be the political debates in the Zionist arena, the economical crises and the ideological-social rifts.
