During this workshop we will explore the fundamentals of classical rhetoric through implementation and practice of public speaking. We will ask what is the difference between a written text and a spoken lecture, how to prepare a persuasive argument and how to deliver it, how to use our body and voice, how to cope with mental obstacles, and more. We will explore rhetorical techniques that were shaped in ancient Greece and Rome, and will also ask which components of the classical rhetoric should be updated in our times.

The workshop consists of practice during the semester and feedback, and the final assignment is a concluding short speech.
