The course will examine artistic expressions in light of psychoanalytical approaches and critical theories which deal with loss and bereavement in the modern life circle. The focus on the Israeli spheres will enable us to create theoretical anchors to Jewish perceptions and express the complex Israeli intercultural Mosaic.
The course will provide a general introduction of psychoanalytical
and critical theories by psychologists such as Freud, Lindemann, Parkes, Louis, Neimeyer, Winnicott, Lacan and thinkers such as La-Capra, Derrida, Blanchot, Levinas and Deleuz, while viewing their thought in contemporary artistic fields.
