D:\Inetpub\shared\yedion\syllabus\06\2016\0618\0618405801_desc.txt סילבוס מקוצר הן פילוסופים והן פסיכולוגים מתעניינים באופן שבו אנחנו מבצעים שיפוטים, מקבלים החלטות, ופועלים בתחום המוסרי. בסמינר הזה יוכלו הסטודנטים לבחון תיאוריות שונות לגבי המנגנונים הנפשיים המובילים להתנהגות בשלל הקשרים מוסריים ונורמטיביים כגון חולשת רצון, התמכרות, כפייתיות, הונאה עצמית, אגואיזם ואלטרואיזם, אופי ומצבנוּת (situationism), ועוד. הסטודנטים יוכלו לבחור האם להתמקד בעבודותיהם (גם) במחקר אמפירי-פסיכולוגי, ויופנו לטקסטים רלוונטיים. הקורס יתנהל רובו ככולו במתכונת של מפגשי הדרכה אישיים (tutorials). לאחר פגישה קבוצתית ראשונה (אליה חשוב מאוד להגיע) ובה יוצגו בהרחבה נושא הסמינר ומתכונתו, יכתוב כל סטודנט עבודות קצרות על תתי-נושא לבחירתו. העבודות יידונו בפגישות האישיות עם המרצה. ציון הסמינר יתבסס על העבודות. מטלות: נוכחות במפגש הראשון, הגשת עבודות קצרות שיידונו במפגשים האישיים. הרכב הציון: 100% העבודות. הפגישה הראשונה תתקיים ביום ב', 31.10.16 בשעה 12:00 בחדר 304 בבניין גילמן. Course description Both philosophers and psychologists have long been fascinated by how our capacity to make judgments, reach decisions, and perform actions is exercised in the moral domain. In this seminar, students will have the opportunity to examine different theories concerning the mental mechanisms at play in various moral and normative contexts, such as weakness of will, addiction, compulsion, self-deception, egoism vs. altruism, character vs. situationism, and so on. Students will be able to choose whether to focus (partly) on the empirical-psychological research on these questions, and will be referred to relevant literature. The seminar will mostly be conducted as a series of one-on-one tutorials. After the first group meeting (which students are strongly encouraged to attend), where the topics and structure of the seminar will be explained, students will prepare short essays on topics of their choice. The essays will be discussed in the tutorials, and will form the basis for the final mark.
