סמינר מתקדם הבוחן מגמות עכשוויות בתיאוריה קווירית ובלימודי טרנסג'נדר משנות האלפיים ועד היום, ומהווה את המשכו של הקורס "יסודות המחשבה הקווירית". בין המגמות שייסקרו: המפנה האנטי-חברתי בתיאוריה הקווירית; קוויריות ולימודי מוגבלויות; תיאוריות אפקט (affect); הומו-לאומיות וטרנס-לאומיות; טרנספמיניזם; אינטרסקס; סקס ופוליטיקה ויראלית בעידן האיידס הגלובלי; קוויריות והלא-אנושי.

An advanced graduate seminar that studies contemporary trends in queer theory and transgender studies from the 2000s to today, and that functions as an upper-level course which begins the discussion where the course “The Foundations of Queer Thought” left off. The seminar will critically review the following developments in queer theory and transgender studies: the anti-social thesis in queer theory; queerness and disability studies; affect theories; homonationalism and transnationalism in biopolitical contexts; issues in transfeminism and intersexuality; sex and viral politics in the Age of Global AIDS;  queering the non-human.
