The course is aimed at the characterziation of earthquakes from a geological perspective.  We will focus on palaeoseismology and archaeoseismology, discuss the earthquake processes, and the application of a variety of geologic tools (e.g. geomorphology, stratigraphy, etc.) to identify past earthquakes. Each class students will provide a summary of the major global earthquakes for the previous week and their tectonic settings.
