This course will cover the key concepts in the synthesis and characterization of low-dimensional materials (e.g. nanocrystals, nanowires, nanotubes and atomic-films). At the end of the course, the student should be able to design his own growth experiments. The first part will be dedicated to synthesis of nanomaterials. In the second part, nano-characterization techniques will be covered and finally, third part, selected applications will be introduced.
