The course deals with the basic terms and processes involved in applying computer networks. The course frame will include an introduction of communication protocols at different communication layers, physical devices, communication architectures, information security, cloud computing, and state of the art subjects such as IoT (Internet of Things). The student will acquire basic knowledge in computer networking with a perspective of how to functionally implement those technologies. Teaching methodology is based on the 5 layers model (Internet Protocol Suite) in a Top to Bottom order.
The exercises will include an implementation of networks models using Python based simulation.
