Course description

The course describes both classical approaches for analyzing genomic data and topics from recent papers in the fields of systems and computational biology. The course includes topics such as clustering and other machine learning approaches, EM algorithms for inferring hidden Markov models and other probabilistic models, algorithms for inferring evolutionary trees and ancestral genomic sequences, approaches for computational modeling of biological systems (for example, gene translation), systems biological analysis of biological phenomena and biological systems.
